Freeform pewter pendant necklace with embedded opal and stainless steel chain

This one-of a kind freeform pewter pendant was made with recycled pewter. Melted and poured onto a plate, a beautiful synthetic opal was embedded into the molten pewter. After a bit of polishing, it was hung from a 18.5 inch stainless steel chain. The immediacy of the method creates a pendant with organic movement and harmonious shape. The bright blue of the opal visually pops from the pendant. The bail was also formed from molten pewter.
